Rheta Beach is the Special Deputy Liquidator of Southern American Insurance Company. She was appointed by commissioner Robert E. Wilcox in February of 1996. Ms. Beach is also the Special Deputy Liquidator of American Protectors Insurance Company, a Utah domestic life and health insurer, placed in liquidation in September of 1990. She has served as assistant deputy rehabilitator/liquidator of Bonneville Life Insurance Company and United Republic Life Insurance Company, Utah domestic life, annuity and health insurers.

As Special Deputy Liquidator, Ms. Beach is deeply involved with most aspects of the day-to-day administration of the estate; marshaling assets, reviewing claim issues and making claim recommendations to the court, reporting to the liquidator and the liquidation court and directing and assisting in liquidation matters. She also works closely with applicable insurance guaranty associations and attorneys handling litigation on behalf of SAIC.

Ms. Beach is a life-long resident of Utah and received her education in Salt Lake City. Her career in the insurance industry began in high school with a summer position with Utah Farm Bureau Insurance Company. Her continuing insurance experience evolved in the Utah life, health and annuity sector with positions with policyholder service, actuarial and management divisions for three different ongoing companies in Utah. During this time, Ms. Beach earned the FLMI designation with the Life Office Management Institute. Ms. Beach has been an active member of the International Association of Insurance Receivers (IAIR) since 1992 and is serving on several committees for this organization.
